Sunnyside - Sarasota

My wife always said.....”Never judge by its cover”. She was correct here. Oh my God. The food & service was amazing. The plates were huge!! The family is vacationing in Sarasota/Anna Maria Island &&& got off the plane. Picked this spot & wasn’t feeling all warm/toasty butttttt once we stepped in......AMAZING!!! Thank You to Claudia who spoke great English, friendly & attentive & put up with a party of a hungry 6!! Thanks to Sunnyside.....we will be back for sure.

My husband and I ate here 2 days and both were outstanding. Unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere is just what I wanted. I had scrambled eggs with baby kale and freshly squeezed orange juice and bagel with lox both were very good. Highly recommend

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sunnyside, a charming restaurant that offers a wide array of breakfast and lunch options. Our experience was delightful from start to finish. I opted for the Chicken Basil Mozzarella and Tomato Panini, and it was simply delicious. The panini was warm and perfectly toasted, with juicy and tender chicken that melded beautifully with the fresh basil and mozzarella. It was served with a side of fries that were crisp and satisfying. My wife, who is vegetarian, chose the two eggs with grilled tofu, accompanied by a side of toast and a potato pancake. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the grilled tofu was a fantastic protein alternative. The highlight for both of us was the potato pancake, a delicious option we had never tried before. It was very similar to a hash brown, but with an extra layer of flavor and texture that made it stand out. Overall, our meal at Sunnyside was fantastic. The diverse menu caters to all tastes, and the food quality is excellent. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return to explore more of their offerings. Sunnyside is a must-visit for anyone looking for a hearty and delicious breakfast or lunch.

Terrific food! We went for a Saturday brunch and enjoyed both their traditional and salmon eggs Benedict as well as their Brave One meaty omelette. We also enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice and pumpkin spice latte. Wish there were more tables. Think they would be full. Will definitely return!

This morning I found myself in a quaint atmospheric restaurant with a rotating menu with a fun little surprise for today they offered a special menu item consisting of lobster, mixed greens and a made-in-house mayonnaise on a toasted roll that tasted both fresh and tangy.

I just want to say that our server, Claudia was one of the best servers we have ever had! She was so kind. The food was very good and fresh. Tastes like everything is homemade. The steak was flavorful, and the crab cakes were so good. Everything was wonderful we will definitely be back!

Sunnyside Restaurant is one of our favorite spots in Sarasota. It’s a small, cozy, and relaxed place with both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve delicious breakfast and lunch, and on weekends, they also offer dinner. Although the service can sometimes be a bit slow, it’s always friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. It’s definitely worth it. Every time we visit Sarasota, we make sure to stop here.

Delicious and cozy. Really friendly staff. My kid and I sat at the bar. Great playlist. Loved the vibe. The Sunnyside burger was huge! They made it gluten free for my kid - hence the toast instead of a bun. She said it’s the best burger she’s had in years! She finished it! And the homemade fries lol! I had the Sunnyside salad. Swapped kale for arugula and I am percent returning for this zesty, fresh salad! The roasted chickpeas and avocado in lemon are a culinary experience.
